Website privacy notice
This notice explains how the onuri.app website handles your information. In short, analytics is off unless you turn it on.
Last updated: 28 September 2026
You can accept or reject analytics cookies at any time. Changing your mind is as easy as making the first choice.
This notice covers this website only. The Onuri iPhone app has its own app privacy policy, and the app does not use analytics.
Who is responsible
The website is run by John Henry Roche, Ireland, who is the data controller. Contact: onurisupport@gmail.com.
Optional analytics (only if you accept)
If you choose Accept analytics, this website loads Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited. It helps show how many people visit and which pages are useful.
- What is collected: pages viewed, how you arrived at the site, approximate location (country or city level), device, browser and screen type, and basic interaction events such as scrolling.
- Cookies set:
_gaand_ga_<ID>, which distinguish visits and last up to 2 years. - Settings used: Google signals and advertising personalisation are turned off. We do not use analytics data for advertising, and we do not try to identify you.
- Retention: analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for no longer than 14 months.
- Transfers: Google may process this data outside the EU, including in the United States. Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses for these transfers.
- Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing does not affect use before you withdrew.
If you choose Reject analytics, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded, no analytics cookies are set, and no analytics data is sent to Google. If you reject after previously accepting, existing analytics cookies are deleted.
How your choice is remembered
Your accept or reject choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key onuri_analytics_consent, so we don't ask on every page. This is not sent to anyone. Clearing your browser data removes it, and you will be asked again.
Things that happen on every visit
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub Pages (hosting), GitHub, Inc. | Your IP address and standard request details, such as browser type and the page requested | To deliver the website and keep it secure. See GitHub's privacy statement. |
| Google Fonts, Google Ireland Limited | Your IP address and browser details when pages load their typefaces | To display the website's fonts. Google Fonts does not set cookies. See the Google Fonts privacy FAQ. |
The legal basis for these is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.
Links to other sites, such as the App Store, Medium or LinkedIn, only share data with those sites if you click them. Their own privacy policies then apply.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its use, and to data portability. Because analytics data is not linked to your name, we may not be able to find records about you in it. We will help where we can. To make a request, email onurisupport@gmail.com.
You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
